Many thanks to everybody for all their efforts.
For a first attempt it went really well.
We hope to have some more pictures up soon.
As a resident of this fair neighbourhood that continues to inspire me, it really is an honour and a privilege to be asked to judge the artistic efforts of my co-inhabitants in the first of our collective attempts to Brighten Up February in Portobello.
If it was up to me there would be multiple prizes but unfortunately there can only be one winner...
Here’s to living life in glorious Technicolor.
For fun and colourful outfits and for being spirited and entering fully into the festive mood. (Many thanks to The Cashmere Shop, Jeroboams and Ceramica Blue for this prize)
Both were well thought out, coordinated displays with painstaking effort and breath taking results done on a relatively shoe string budget, proving that it does not require a King’s Ransom to deliver impact and cheer to a winter’s day, which to me, after all, is the true essence of Portobello. (Many thanks to The Electric Cinema for this prize)
Murphy’s, Last Place on Earth, Hair by Myriam, Viva, Party Revolution, Sub Couture, Scin and the beautiful Lindy W for thinking beyond the proverbial box.
Huge thanks to the following people:
The Printhouse at Notting Hill Gate,
Mark Atkinson (the Market Development Officer),
Wevans, Gerry, Saara, Louise, Cindy, Claire
